More on joinery for property refurbishment and repair

If your property repair or refurbishment involves outdoor or interior timber, there’s probably a place for our joinery skills. We’re so much more than just timber window suppliers and fitters…

Joinery supply choices

With access to our sister company’s installation and general building skill, we can offer a fuller service than many joiners. Choose from these options:

  • Supply only (to your measurements)
  • Measurement and supply
  • Supply and fit
  • Supply and fit + creation of opening

For the latter, many joinery workshops would have to subcontract associated structural work. Customers like how we can do everything from measurement and joinery design to creating openings – for example, when adding windows during refurbishment or reinstating timber sash boxes that were removed to install uPVC glazing.

Joinery for property repairs

All manner of property repairs draw on our skills – and our sister company’s abilities. It could be as simple as mending interior architraves, repairing exterior doors and windows or repairing a damaged timber reception area. On-site and in our joinery workshop our equipment, experience and expertise take the worry out of repairs involving timber and joinery.

At our heart is a bespoke joinery manufacturing service (we never make for stock). This embraces the following:

  • Survey
  • Joinery design
  • Handcrafting bespoke joinery
  • Meticulous finishing
  • Installation (if needed)
  • On-site and workshop repair and maintenance

Sometimes the most appropriate – and cost-effective – option is joinery repair. We often do this through our sister company with its long experience in residential and commercial repairs and refurbishment.

Using professional epoxy timber repair systems with traditional joinery skills, we can often do repairs on-site. If this isn’t possible, our joinery workshop can repair anything from a single window frame to all the windows in a listed Georgian house.

Joinery for property refurbishment

With very few exceptions – we don’t currently make staircases, though we can fit them – we handle any joinery for diverse commercial and property refurbishment projects.

Are you updating retail premises, offices or a showroom? Perhaps you’re refurbishing a buy-to-let property before letting? Or you’re a developer handling complete refurbishment of one of South West England’s listed properties? Whatever you’re refurbishing, we help with custom-made joinery such as this:

  • Timber sash windows
  • Timber casement windows
  • Interior doors
  • Exterior doors
  • Bespoke fitted furniture
  • Custom-made garage doors
  • Conservatories and conservatory refurbishment

FENSA-approved for doors and windows

In the case of wood replacement windows and doors, we’re FENSA-approved. Among other things, this means we can handle the joinery for upgrades from single to double glazing – for contemporary and heritage buildings.

Sash window refurbishment

Customers value our experience with everything from draught proofing sash windows to handcrafting new vertical sliders. Our work embraces anything from repair and refurbishment of single-glazed box sash windows to manufacture and installation of new slim line double-glazed sash windows. With their energy efficient A-rated glazing, updated window furniture (in contemporary or heritage style) and reassuring high-security fixtures, they’ll transform your property.

Sash refurbishment typically involves the following:

  • Repair of sashes and sash boxes (cases), including repair/replacement of rotted or damaged joinery.
  • Fitting brushes for sash window draught proofing.
  • Refurbishment of springs, balances and sash cords.
  • Application of preservative-primer.
  • Preparation and finishing in your choice of high-performance paint, oil, stain or varnish.

If your property refurbishment involves sash windows, we’re here for you. Depending on your project, you can bring the joinery to us. Alternatively, trust us to manage everything from site survey and repair, to reinstallation and setup of your beautifully refurbished windows.

One high standard of finishing

On the subject of finishing joinery such as replacement timber windows, we work with trusted professional paint systems such as Teknos and Sickens. Applied over suitable preservative-primer and undercoats, the result is a long-lasting finish that reduces the required frequency of repainting. With 1625 RAL Design shades to choose from, you can be confident in our ability to match any finishing specification. Of course, we also work with paint from leading brands such as Dulux, Crown, Farrow & Ball and Johnstone’s.
